P.N. Garrison Band
CONTEST ARRANGEMENTS. At a meeting of the Palmerston North Garrison band committee held last evening arrangements were finalised for the forthcoming visit of the Palmerston North Garrison band to the Now Zealand band contest in Dunedin. The contest commences on Febuary 22 and the band will leave Palmerston North on the afternoon of that day. Its first concerted engagement will not Le until the following Tuesday February 25. There were present Messrs M. H. Oram (in the chair), F. J. Oakley, H. E. Bergersen, J. H. Dick, J. Mounsey, and W. H. Boon. A letter was received from the Highland Pipe band offering its services in any activities to raise funds to send the Garrison band to the contest. Members of the committee expressed their appreciation of this action and it was decided to write to the Highland band committee thanking it for its generous offer. It wa*s decided to a.sk the Pipe band to co-operate in the march to the fireworks display which is to be held on the Showgrounds next Wednesday evening.
