The Palmerston North Tennis Club had an easy win at the expense.of Northern - in Wednesday’s competition match played on the Northern courts yesterday. Details are as follow, Palmerston North players being mentioned first: — Men’s singles. —Louisson beat C. Prench 9-4; Donald beat S. Stannard 9-2; Scrivener beat G. H. Bycroft 9-8; Knight beat L. H. Bycroft 9-8. Ladies’ singles.—Mrs C. G. Moore beat Miss V. Isaacs 7-2; Mrs Allen beat Miss I. Sinclair 7-3; Miss N. Hollier beat Miss W. Ranson 7.4; Miss Blackbourne lost to Miss M. Garner 4-7. Men’s doubles. —Louisson and Donald beat French and Stannard 9-0; Scrivener and Ivnight beat Bycroft and Bycroft 9-5. Ladies’ doubles. —Mesdames Moore and Allen beat Misses Isaacs and Sinclair 9.1; Misses Hollier and Blackbourne lost to Misses Ranson and Garner 6-9. Mixed doubles. —Louisson and Mrs Moore beat French and Miss Isaacs 9-2; Donald and Mrs Allen beat Stannard and Miss Sinclair 9-2; Scrivener and Miss Hollier beat G. H. Bycroft and Miss Ranson 9-3; Knight and Miss Blackbourne lost to L. H. Bycroft and Miss Garner 5.9.
