From Our Own Correspondent,

The monthly meeting of the Linton school committee was held on Monday evening. There were present Messrs. T. Lynch, (in the chair), J. Aitcheson, E. Greer, F. Lash and E. W. Croucher. The headmastc-r reported the average attendance wis 64 and a roll of 6S. The Agricultural instructor and another departmental officer paid the school a visit and instructed. pupils in the method of maize sowing. Enid GrCfer and Fred Knife secured merit cards at the Manawaitu Show for writing and drawing respectively. The Willard Home appreciated 17i dozen eggs sent by the school. The local candidates for proficiency would be required to sit for the examination on November 22.

.The secretary reported the advice received on various subsidies. The chairman was instructed to inquire as to the cost of having the tennis court repaired.
