ITALIAN ACQUITTED ON MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE Per Preen Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. In the Supremo Court to-day, Mrs. Gertrude Mary le. Sueur claimed £461 19/- damages from Leo Chung for injuries received through being allegedly knocked down in Courtenay place last June by a motor car driven by Chung. , , The Ohlef Justice (Hon. M. Myers), after hearing plaintiff’s evidence, refused defendant’s application for a nonsuit. The evidence so far showed that plaintiff and two other women were crossing the road on a dark, wet night and were knocked down by a slowmoving motor car which had the automatic light signals in its favour. The case will be resumed to-morrow.

The jury in the Supreme Court today found Abele Dalla Rioa, a young Italian, not guilty of the manslaughter of Wallace Parlane, who died as the result of injuries received when accused and deceased collided on motor cycles at an intersection last September. The jury failed to agree on the charge of negligently driving the motor cycle, thereby causing the death of Parlane. Another trial is asked for.
