Weekly Meeting
The Manawatu Rugby District Council mot last evening, Mr. J. A. Colquhoun in the chair. Also present were Messrs J. R. Hardie, H. E. Crawford, K. W. Eglinton, H. Hands and T. MeHerron.
The Kia Toa Club wrote asking for permission to play a match between its fourth grade representatives and Pirates (Wanganui) fifth grade at Palmerston North on Saturday. Permission was granted and the teams wore allotted No. 5 area at the Showgrounds for the game. The Wellington Union wrote thanking the council for the hospitality extended to the Wellington fourth grade team which recently visited Palmerston North and also asking the Manawatu Council to thank the Levin authorities for the good time they had given a visiting Wellington junior fifteen which opposed Manawhenua juniors. The combined Banks of Palmerston North also wrote thanking the council for granting their team the use of a ground and jerseys for its game against the representatives of the Wanganui banks which is to be played on Monday. It was decided to play the Rowland Cup fixture between the respective junior champions of Manawatu and Eorowhenua on September 28, at Levin, The Manawatu junior champion team is Kia Toa A, while Otaki will represent the southern district.
