MOTOR CAR AND TRUCK COLLIDE IN MAIN STREET

ONE VEHICLE BADLY SMASHED.

At 5.40 yesterday morning a sedan car owned and driven by Mr A. E. Harding, of Napier road, Woodville, and a light delivery truck driven by Mr A. H. Couper, of 335 Ruahino street, Palmerston North, were involved in a smash at the corner of Punliine and Alain streets.

The car was proceeding down Main street from Terraco End, while the truck was coming down Ruahino street from tho hospital side. Right on the intersection the car struck the rear of the truck with the result that Mr Couper’s two children who were travelling with him, were thrown from the vehicle. One child was unconscious for a brief period, but after receiving medical attention was able to be taken home.

While the truck was badly smashed, the car escaped with a broken bumper. The occupants of the car were unhurt.
