Rongotea

Rongotea Women’s Institute. On Tuesday afternoon in the Masonie hall the Rongotea Women's Institute held their monthly meeting. The programme was as follows: Demonstration Barbola, by Mrs. Simpson, Woodville; one shilling, bring and buy, won by Miss Stephens. The hostesses (Mrs. A. Burgess and Misses E. Burgess and P. Gloyn) then served a very dainty afternoon tea. Drainage Board Meeting. The usual monthly meeting of the Oroua Drainage board was held on Wednesday morning. There were present: Commissioners Gloyn, A. Burgess, C. Watkins, A. Gust, the overseer (Mr. W. H. H. Foster) and the clerk (Mr. E. P. Wood).
The overseer reported that since the last meeting the following drains have been completed: Goebel’s, Kopang Suldiers, Db.on’s aud Lean’s. The following arc the remainder of the drains in the Oroua board to be cleaned: Johnston’s, Kopanc continuation, Hamper’s Walsh’s and Cook’s. Accounts passed fqr payment were £SO 19s lOd. Football. The following will represent Rongotea seniors to play at Sanson on Saturday: Gust (3), G. Goldfinch, Scott, Algar (2), Peterson, H. Howell, J. Walsh, K. Vile, Whiteman, T. Amadio and H. Fuller.
Juniors to play at Rongotea: D Thompson, Gust (2), Knight, D. Saund ers, H. Duker, Dixon (2), Wilson, Mud ford, S. Gould, Burne (2) and C. Dono van. Thirds to play Sanson B at Rongotea: J. Major, H. Eades, J. Liggins, A Pedley, G. Frccklington, L. Craig Gloyn (2), R. Gust, Martin, C. Saxon S. Poupard, Evans, J. Ritchfield, H. Hughes and Wright (2).
