A GREAT MUSICAL EVENT

GRAND CONCERT IN AID OF RUSSELL STREET SCHOOL.

With commendable enterprise the committee of tho Russell Street school are making a bold bid to place the funds of the school on a satisfactory basis by promoting a concert on a largo scale in the Opera House on Wednesday next. Tho opportunity of hearing a large orchestra will bo given all music lovers as they have arranged for over forty players under the baton of Mr. C. L. Mowlcrn, to present four numbers. Assisting the orchestra will be Mr. Claude Tanner of Wellington, whose ability on the 'cello is recognised throughout New Zealand. Mr. Tanner will also contribute a 'cello solo and Mr. 11. E. Gunter will accompany him at tho piano. Miss Nno-mi Whulloy will be the lady vocalist and her numbers will be worth tho price of admission alone. Messrs R. B. R-oss and Blair Tennant will contribute to the programme and Messrs Jacobs and Simpson will appear in a song duet, Mr R. Luke Is down for an elocutionary number and an instrumental trio wall be contributed by Mrs Law (violin), Miss Seifert (piano) ftfnd. Mr. Swallow (flute). The box pW ..-opens at the Majestic office, Broadway, on Monday morning at 10 o’clock. The prices o-f admission will be Bs, 2« and Is.
