Others winners were Landry (France), Kozeluh, 'limner, Cochet (France), Hennessey (U.S.A.). All of them had hard struggles. In tho second round of the ladies’ singles, Miss Tapscott (South Africa) beat Miss Barbier, 4r—6, 6—l, 6 —l. In tho third round of the ladies’ singles, Misses Wills, Nuthall, Ryan and Lycett and Senorita d’Alvancz had easy victories.
