From Our Own Correspondent. Farewell to Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Maul. Mr and Airs. 11. L. Maul, who are leaving the district shortly to take up residence at Papatawa, were farewellcd last Friday evening by the settlers of Siberia road. Mr. A. Do Malmanehe’s spacious granary was kindlyloaned for the occasion and presented an attractive appearance with dccoiaDons of Chinese lanterns. There were about 50 people present, including visitors frani Wellington, Pahiatua, Woodvillc, Kiwitea and Ashhurst. in handing Mrs. Maul a handsome silver teapot and Air. Maul a gold mounted fountain pen, Mr. A. McKinlay referred to the fine neighbourly spirit that the guests of tho evening had shown during their Jong residence in the district and expressed the hope or all present that they would enjoy happiness and prosperity in their new home. Mr. Maul suitably, replied thanking tlu: residents for their presents and good wishes, and extending a hearty invitation to their friends to visit them at Papatawa. Dancing was indulged m until the early hours of the morning to excellent music provided by Messrs A. D. Malmancho (violin), C. Lees (banjo), J Smith (euphonium) and >S. Greaves (concertina). Between the dances, coinpetitions were held and Messrs Bristow and McKinlay also rendered items. A very pleasant function concluded with tho singing of "Auld Lang Sync. Foliangina Valley Rifle Club.

The Fitzsimmons Cup for the highest aggregate score for the season was won by D. Balmcr with 07S points, O. bpolinaii being runner-up witli 074 and 3. Spelnian third with 001. For the highest handicap aggregate score, L- H”»770 received the Roberts’ Oujk O. BpOr man being runner-up with 707 and U. Balmcr third with 700.
