PROGRAMME FOR VISIT OF EMDEN TO AUCKLAND
TRIP TO ROTORUA. The German cruiser Emden, according to latest advice from the Internal Affairs Department, will be boarded by the Auckland Harbour Board’s pilot at 7.15 to-morrow morning, and will go into dry dock at Devonport at 2.30 in the afternoon. On July 4 the vesse. will leave for Wellington. Courtesy calls will be exchanged according to a programme issued by the department. At 9.15 o’clock to-morrow morning the senior naval officer in port will call •on the captain of the Emden, Captain von Arnauld, who will come ashore half an hour later to call on the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. P. A. De la Perrcllo, at the Grand hotel. At intervals of a quarter of an hour Captain von Arnauld will call in turn on the Officer Commanding the Northern Command, the Mayor, and the chairman of the Harbour board. The return calls will be commenced at 11.15 by the ' Minister of Internal Affairs, who will be followed at 15 minutes intervals by the Officer Commanding the Northern Command, the Mayor, and the chairman of the Harbour board. At 12.30 Captain von Arnauld will return the call of the senior naval officer. An invitation has been extended by the government'for a party of approximately 73 officers and cadets from the cruiser to visit Rotorua, the provisional itinerary providing for departure from Auckland on the morning of Saturday, June 29, and for their return on the following Monday evening at about 11 o 'clock.
