RELIABILIT Y TRIAL. Tho Manawatu Motor club held a very successful short reliability trial during the week-end over a distance of 14i miles, three miles of which were over a very muddy road. The inclement weather was against a large entry, although 16 started and only two retired. One of tho conditions was that the trial was to be a non-stop one,

but no competitor was able to get through without a stoppage. Points were deducted for stoppages, “foot slogging” in a. short muddy stretch, early or late arrival at controls, brake tests and general condition of machines at the finish. In the majority of case 3 the most points were lost at tho brake tests and for stoppages. Following arc the results: — ?~\' : It. Limbrick, P.N. (34 A.J.S.), lost .118 points .£• ...ir; 1W. A.), lost 682; T. Pcet (31 Ariel), lost 1078. The following failed to stop at a, brake test and were consequently disqualified:—!. Manning (7 Harley), C. Barllrop (2i 8.5. A.), E. Pckerscn (7 Harley), J. Weston (31 Ariel). The following retired: H. J. Davis- (7 Harley; and T. Bruce (2J P. & M.).
