Mr Larcombe, the .manager of the Ail-Englash elub, admits that it is most probable the committee will consider whether women competitors at Wimbledon will bo allowed to play without stockings. Miss Helen Wills, who sot the fashion in Europe, when interviewed today, seemed sceptical as to whether the club would venture to issue a rule on such a personal matter. Nevertheless, sho would not like to oppose it if it were the official ruling. When questioned on the matter, Senorita D’Alvanez, the fascinating Spanish player, expressed tho opinion that it was out of keeping to wear a frock and no stockings. "If they decided to wear bathing costumes for tennis it would be an excellent idea," the Spanish lady added.
