Severe Frosts
The second of the recent cyclones is now centred near Capo Maria and its intense pressure has risen rapidly over eastern Australia. Winds will be northerly at first North of Auckland but southerlies soon becoming general, moderate to strong generally and reaching gale force at times in places from Cook strait northwards. The seas will be heavy between Kailcoura and East Cape, elsewhere rather rough to rough; strong south-east to southerly winds in the eastern Tasman, reaching gale force ill the northern portion, with moderate to rough seas. The weather I will still be cold, squally and unsettled with showers in most districts and heavy in places and hail on parts of the East Coast. Conditions arc improving in the south and west. There will be many frosts, severe in places. Sun (to-day). Rises, 7.19 a.m.; sets, 4.35 p.m. To-morrow. Rises, 7.20 a.m.; sets, 4.34 p.m. j Moon (to-day). Rises 5.2 p.m.; sets, 11.20 a.m. To-morrow. Rises, 9.5 p.m.; sets, 11.50 a.m.•
