THE TIVOLI
‘■ Man, Woman and Wife,'’ which comes to the Tivoli, tells the story of a soldier who loses his courage while storming a machine-gun nest during the war. He exchanges identification tag:; with a dead mail and becomes a. deserter. To his wife and former friend no is dead, but to Rita, who liad loved him before he married, he is everything. In trying to keep his identify from (he world to save his wife, who lias married again, ho wages a tremendous struggle with himself. Tlio picture ends in a sensational and surprising climax. Nor!maii Kerry iu I ho starring role of Italph I Brandon, cowardly but human character, whose love for his wife could not die through all the vicissitudes of an underworld existouce, enacts the greatest part of his career. Paulino ■Starke plays the featured role of Rita, whoso mad infatuation for Kerry alternately helps and hinders him. Marion Nixon appears as the wife of Kerry, and Kenneth Harlan as his best friend. Others iu the stellar cast arc Crawford Kent and Bryon Douglas. It is a Universal picture directed by Edward Lacmmle from a story by Charles A. Loguo. ‘‘The Collegians” will also be screened and a matinee will be held to day at 2.30 p.m.
