At yesterday’s meeting of the Feilding branch of tlie Farmers’ Union, the chairman (Mr. AV. L. Grice) referred to the passing of fSir James AVilson, a founder of flic, union. A resolution recording the branch’s sympathy with Lady AVilson and family was carried in silence.

Before Thursday’s meeting of the Peilding Borough Council closed, the Mayor (Mr. 0. E. Taylor) invited councillors and their wives together, with the Town Clerk, the Borough Engineer and Mesdames Harding and Hay to be the guests of himself and the Mayoress at afternoon tea at AYhitehead’s on Thursday next. At its meeting ou Thursday evening the Peilding Borough Council decided to request Cr. E. Pair to present the council with au enlarged framed photograph of himself to hang in the council chamber.

A hockey dance will be held in the Culyton hall on Thursday evening. The Peilding and District Hockey Association’s Affiliated Clubs’ tourney will take place on A'ictoria park this afternoon.
