Eagcu’s manager telegraphed offering to refund the money expended in the preparation for the matches, stating that Turncsa was willing to deputise. The Moorpark club offered to accept Farrell, but not Turnesa, as a substitute. The secretary pointed out they had sold a thousand tickets, had made arrangements for catering, engaged a staff and widely advertised the match.
