Squally and Cold The cyclone is moving away eastwards. Pressure is high between southern New Zealand and Tasmania, but there are indications of the development of a new cyclone off the New South Wales coast. Moderate to strong and squallv soutlieast to southwest winds still of gale force in places, more especially about Cook Strait and on the east coast of the North Island but later decreasing gradually. Seas moderate on the west coast of the South Island and south of Akaroa, elsewhere rough to heavy. Strong southerly winds later backing to easterly with rough seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. Weather still most unsettled with rain in most districts but mainly fair in Westland and Otago, thick on the east coast between East Cape and Kaikoura. Cold temperatures. Sun (to-day). Rises, 7.S a.m.; sets, 4.44 p.m To-morrow. Rises, 7.9 a.m.; sets, 4.43 p.m. Moon (to-day). Rises, 2.8 p.m.; sets, To-morrow. Rises, 2.24 p.m.; sets 1.5 a.m.
