NO EXAMINATION FOR UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE

WELLINGTON - , May 16. “I must congratulate the secondary school teachers on having at last in sight the substituting of accrediting for examination in the case of the university entrance,’’ remarked the Director of Education, Mr. Strong, when addressing the Secondary Schools Association. There might be misgivings in the minds of some and timidity to shoulder the responsibility on the part of others, but he had no doubt that, with suitable safeguards, the change would be of Immense benefit to the pupils and their teachers.
