ALL SAINTS’ YOUNG ME’NS BIBLE CLASS
ANNUAL REPORT. In their report to be presented to the annual meeting of the All Saints' Young Men's Bible Class and Club, the committee record that satisfactory progress was made last year. “Wo are pleased to state,'' continues the report, “that the general attendance of Bible class members has kept up very well throughout the year; 125 members arc at present on the roll, and three classes have met regularly under the leadership of Revs. H. Kenney and J. R. Neild and Mr. If. Daivick. A fourth class met for a time under the leadership of Mr. Bay Bradly but, unfortunately, he was transferred from Palmerston North, and so far no one has been forthcoming to -lill the vacancy. At piesent Mr. Neild is managing both junior classes but assistance of some kind is badly needed. Over 20 members of the class attended the Dominion Bible class camp held at Solway at Christmas. They were most successful in the various camp activities and won ihe Julius Cup for swimming, tho Patteson Banner for athletics, and the
special prize for the best unit. Wo arc glad to note that moro members are making their weight felt in the various departments of the work of the Church. We now number in our ranks one lay reader, .12 Sunday school teachers, and nine altar servers. We are glad to report a larger financial membership of the elub than ever before, and wc have had no financial worries during the year. Honorary members’ subscriptions and donations have been a profitable source of revenue and the ladies’ committee has also renders.l valuable assistance. At the beginning of the year there was a debt on tho club room of £485 I4s Gd. We have paid bank charges and interest on this amount and have reduced the debt to £-102 6s. We have, however, incurred a fresh liability by the purchase of a piano for £3O. Again the club was represented by' a toam in the junior grade of cricket competitions and had a successful and enjoyable season. The club extended hospitality to and played a match against representatives ot the Wellington Boys’ Cricket League on Easter Saturday and Monday, h keenly contested match ending in a draw. In addition to cricket, members have joined in tramps and outings of
various descriptions. A party of nine members spent a memorable ten days in exploring the central regions of tho North Island at Christinaa. Once again we must thank tho indefatigable members of the ladies’ committee. Without their aid it would be impossible to carry on. They have worked unceasingly for the welfare of the club. W’e must also thank the honorary members and other generous donors for financial assistance received during tho year.
