TIMES NEW BUILDING

Alterations Start Monday The extensive alterations necessary to convert C. Smith’s handsome building in Broadway into a permanent home for the “Times” will begin on Monday. Twenty tenders were received for the work, the successful tenderer being Mr. J. Hodgens, of Palmerston North. The frontage to Broadway will be divided into three comodious and up-to-date shops, leaving room for a wide entrance leading to the ©faces and editorial rooms of the “Times.” Behind these again the mechanical and circulation departments are to be housed in convenient and efficiently-equipped compartments. With the completion of these alterations the “Times” will have one of the most up-to-date publishing houses in New Zealand.
