BOARD AND COMMITTEES. The Y.W.C.A. board members and committee, met yesterday at the cluh rooms. The usual business, was adjourned until next meeting in view of the important information that Miss E. Law (National secretary of New Zealand) had brought back from Budapest . Miss-Law spoke ; on the aims and methods- of Y.W.C.A.. work, and read extracts from »a handbook specially prepared for tho delegates at tho "world’s conference at Budapest. She also' dealt with a newly worded world’s basis: -“Faith in God the Father as Creator, in Jesus Christ His only son as Lord and Saviour, and the Holy Spirit as revealer of Truth, and. source of power'fOr life and servico, according to the' teaching of Holy Scripture.” Miss Law related the world’s basis to the Now Zealand purpose. The purpose of the Y.W.C.A. is: “To unite women and girls in a world-wide fellowship,’ to help them to find a definite purpose in life, to be honest and fearless in their thinking, to attain the fullest appreciation of the joys of friendship, of Service and of beauty, and to interpret by radiant living the love of God.” Aims and principles of the association’, hud the way in which they were worked out locally were also dealt with. - Miss Law will remain in Palmerston North, until the'end of April and details of her programme were dealt with as well- as arrangements for continuation of the finance campaign, which has already been begun, by Miss Law and the local board.
