FIRST HOP IN FLIGHT TO AUSTRALIA
MOIR AND OWEN AT MARSEILLES. United Press Association —By Electri* Telegraph—Copyright. Received Tuesday, 9.50 p.m. PARIS, March 19. Moir and Owen have arrived at Marseilles. They aro flying to Rome tomorrow. Flight-Lieutenant Moir and Flight Officer Owen, two Australian airmen, who are attempting to fly to Australia, are using an all-metal Vickers Arm-strong-Siddeiey biplane. Their big ma chine, which is driven by a single 400 horse-power Armstrong-Siddeley engine, has been specially equipped for nonstop flights of as much as 2000 miles, and tho airmen intend to mako the 13,000 mile flight to Australia in long hops. They hope to reach Australia in ■ twelve days and thus break the record of 15£ days mado by Squadron-Leader Hinkler on his 30 horse-power Cirrus Avro-Avjan light ’plane. Received Tuesday, 11.45 p.m. MARSEILLES, March 19. Moir and Owen left at 8,25 u.iu. for Rome.
