MANAWATU HOCKEY ASSOCIATION
THIRTIETH ANNUAL MEETING. Mr B. L. C. Aitchison presided over a representative attendance of delegates at the thirtieth annual meeting of the Manawatu Hockey association which- was helcl last evening. Tho annual report ,as already published, was read and adopted. The balance sheet for the past year showed a credit balance of £24',18s 6d. In moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, Mr Aitchison expressed the opinion that the excellent attendance of delegates augured well for the future of tho game in the Manawatu district. Tho credit balance shown by the treasurer was most gratifying, while the report showed a most satisfactory rate of progress. Mannwatu had done exceptionally well in retaining tho Winter shield and he was suro that with the wealth of young players coming on, there was every reason to hope that tho association! would once again hold the New Zealand championship shield. In order that the game might progress, they must ensure that a supply of younger players was available. In this direction, a most hopeful sign was the support which hockey was obtaining in the schools of tho town, for from this source the future representative players must come.
