Professor Stuart, a visitor from Australia was driving on Sunday afternoon in a taxi to Sir Hugo Hirst’s house in Park Lane with his wife and daughter when tho oar camo into collision with a motor car in Grosvenor Square. So violent was the impact that the body of tho taxi was wrenched from the chassis. Mrs and Miss Stuart were pinned underneath tho wreckage . Miss Stuart was extricated unconscious and taken to St. Goorge’s Hospital. The professor wias cut and bruised about the head but was able to telephone to Sir Hugo Hirst, explaining his inability to keep his appointment.
