Three people were shot in mysterious circumstances while sitting on the verandah of a house at Lower Ferntrea Gully, near Melbourne. The victims are:— Percival Coffey, aged 11, has a bullet wound in the back; Miss Ester Patchett, aged 45, who has a bullet wound in the right thigh; Miss Miriam Coffey, aged 18, who has a bullet wound in the neck. * The houso is surrounded by thick scrub of which a thorough search was made. Six shots were fired altogether.
