CENTRAL SCHOOL GALA DAY
A well attended meeting o £ the combined ladies and men’s committee was held at the school last evening and final arrangements were made for the gala day to be held at the Central school grounds on Wednesday afternoon, at 2.30 p.m. in aid of the school library fund. A number of very valuable prizes have been donated for the function and these have been allotted to baby, show, home made cooking, competitions and euchre party to bo held in the evening at 8 o'clock. Eefreshmonts will be provided and everything augors well for a very successful and interesting day. Stalls of a very interesting nature will be erected on the school grounds and these will be in the hands of the ladies’ committee which has been hard at work in providing something unusual for a function of this description. Competitions of various forms will be •held including croquet, guessing, nail driving, darts, fishing and above all a quarter of a ton of coal and a bag of sugar will be given as prizes for the euchre party.
