AUCKLAND, Last Night.

Arne Borg, holder of several world's records, arrived in Auckland early this morning by tbo Aorangi from Sydney and competed in a special carnival at tho tepid baths to-night. Tho building was packed, many people being unable to gain admittance. Borg competed in the 100 yards inv> tation scratch race, which he won in 55 3-ssecs., this being 3-ssecs. better than- W. Cameron’s New Zealand record. His opponents were Cameron (Wellington), J. Farrell (Auckland), the champion and R. de Loree (Auckland). Cameron kept pace with the visitor for the first two laps, but Borg beat him over the last lap, to win by over two yards. In the 440 yards handicap, Borg conceded starts up to 29secs., but swimming with wonderful judgment, he won by a full three yards from G. Bridson, the New Zealand champion. Tho time was smin. 7 2-ssecs., which is 17secs, better than tho N6w Zealand record. Borg also gave exhibitions of triek swimming and participated in a water polo match.
