MISSIONS AT LOGGERHEADS

As tho result of friction between the missions on Bougainville Island over the erection of a church, the Commissioner, Judgo Phillips, loaves with native police to investigate the missions’ activities. The missions involved are the Roman Catholic, Marist Society, the Methodist Missionary Society of New Zealand and the Seventh Day Adventists .
In one case, a Protestant native mission teacher was forcibly ejected from a villago at tho instigation of priests.
