OBITUARY

MR. P. H. KHiGOUR. Per Press Association. GREYMOUTH, Last Night. Tho death occurred to-night of Mr. Frederick Hamilton Kilgour, J.P., manager of the Greymouth Evening Star Coy., aged 60 years. The deceased was suddenly taken ill while at work to-day and an operation later at tho hospital proved unavailing. The late Mr. Kilgour had held his position in the Star for 38 years and was an enterprising and energetic business man.

He was a native of Dunstan, Otago. He served on the Technical College Board as chairman of the finance committee; he was a trustee and member of the Jockey Club District Commi> tee, a member of the Education Board and High School Board, also of the Licensing Committee for fifteen years and was acting-coroner for four years. He leaves a wife and family of three daughters and three sons, one of tho latter being the Eev. Father John Kilgour, of Eangiora.
