MINISTER OF EDUCATION
TO VISIT COLLEGE STREET SCHOOL. At last evening’s meeting of the College street school committee, a letter was received from the Minister of Education (Hon. 11. Atmore), acknowledging receipt of a newspaper report of the proceedings of the recent special meeting of householders held in connection with the campaign. The Minister stated that he had read tho report with interest and had also noted the terms of the resolution passed urging that tho present College street school building should be replaced. He would be pleased to go into the question with his department and would communicate with the committee in due course.
The writer hoped shortly to pay a visit to Palmerston North, when the various schools would bo inspected. The College street school would most certainly be included in the itinerary. Members of the committee expressed general satisfaction at the news of a probable visit from the Minister.
