In the Craig match at Williamstown, 10 shots at 800 yards, Simmonds, with 49, finished third, and took a £4 prize. Masefield, who also scored 49, finished with an inner and took £2. Boon and Nix made 48, Whiteman 47 and took £l. Of the remainder, H. Feast, Piper, James and Orr each scored 44. Kerr 43, Roots 42, Bolton, Mclver and Swanson 40, Paterson 38, Hood 37, J. Feast 34, and Soler 32. Tho Sargood match, ten shots at 900 yards, necessitated a wind allowance up to 23 feet, resulting in poor scores. Kerr put up a good performance, registering New Zealand’s fourth win, with a score of 47, taking the match and £lO. Boon with 45, took £2. Winners of £1 were Roots and Masefield 44, Nix 42, Bolton, Simmonds 41, Of tho remainder, Piper made 39, H. Feast and Whiteman 38, Hood and Mclvor 37, Paterson 35, Swanson and James 34, J. Feast 32, Orr 31 and Soler 24. In the Syme Aggregate, Masefield was fourth, with 269 points, five points behind the winner, taking £ls. Kerr was seventh with 266, and won £5 Simmonds was eighth also with 266 and won £3. Fourteen of the 18 New Zealanders got on the prize list of the Aggregate. For the opening stage of the King s match ,the atmosphere was cool but the wind was still gusty. Seven shots were fired, at 300, 500 and 600 yards. H. Feast showed some of' his New Zealand brilliance, only being beaten for first place in the count back with 102. Ho takes the second prize of £6. Winners of £1 wore Kerr 99, Hood 98, Nix 97, and Masefield. 96. The remaining New Zealand scores were: Roots and James 95, Boon and Simmonds 94, Mclver, Orr and J. Feast 93, Paterson and Soler 92, Bolton 89, Piper 88.
