McKcnzio at the Arbitration Court yesterday and granted. The Nelson-Manawatu Hawke Cup game will now be commenced on March 13, that date proving moro convenient to both associations. Nelson, finding it could not raise a team for March 6, then suggested Easter week, but this could not be entertained, as other challenges are due at that time. The high prices of eggs and poultry in Wellington havo caused a slackening in the demand for eggs and the current quotations show a slight drop. First grade hen eggs, 2s 4d to 2s 6d per dozen; seconds, 6d cheaper; duck eggs, 2s 4d to 2s Od per dozen. There is a fair supply of fresh poultry at last week’s quotations.

The Gipsy Moth aeroplane presented by the directors of the New Zealand Herald and Auckland Weekly News to the Auckland Aero Club was formally presented yesterday by Mr Boy H. Horton, managing director, at the club’s aerodrome at Ihumatoa. The machine was christened by Mrs B. M. Hacket, wife of the editor of the Herald. Accepting the police evidence, Mr. F. K. Hunt S.M., at Wellington yesterday convicted Charles Henry Lockhart Tukcr, confectioner, Kilbirnie, on a chaige of selling liquor without having a license. Following the alleged sale to the police, a raid was made on of liquor was seized. Mr. Hunt said defendant’s place and a large quantity that ho had no hesitation in accepting the police story and fined defendant £25, in default threo months. Mr. Hunt added: "And in my opinion ho has told lies and committed perjury.” The Manawatu Golf Club’s Annual Meeting will be .held at Commerce Buildings, Broadway, on Friday ovening, March 22nd. The original date notified, March 20th. has been altered, owing to the races. Nominations are invited, by advertisement, on page 1 for officers for tho ensuing season. There are three vacancies on the Committee—V. Harman and Colonel Whyte retiring by time, whilst It. A. Douglas has left the district.
