VENIZELOS MAY BE DICTATOR OF GREECE

WORKING LIKE TROJAN. United Service. LONDON, Feb. 27. M. Venizelos is planning to be Dictator of Greece, according to the Daily Mail’s special diplomatic correspondent. The correspondent, who has been investigating the Greek situation on the spot, states:— "M. Venizelos is at present a stronger force in Greece than ever. As long as he is alive tho restoration of King George is out of the question. M. Venizelos constantly protests to the contrary, but it is known that it is his personal ambition to terminate his political career as President of .the Republic, in which a man of his will and character would be a virtual Dictator. "It is significant that tho Royalist politicians, who before the election in August —when M. Venizelos rolled back to power—described themselves as Royalists, how simply present themselves as anti-Venizelists. ’ ’ The correspondent adds: — 'The Venizelist Cabinet has tho support of 90 per cent, of Parliament. M. Venizelos himself, although aged 65, seems to have taken a new leasa of life and is at present working like a Trojan to consolidate, and popularise, the Republic and thus mako his own position invulnerable for tho day when he becomes King of the Hellenes, but without a crown.”
