At its meeting on Wednesday, the Kiwitea, County council decided to apply to the Main Hignways board to have the Oningaiti-i-'emberton road from Otoira bridge to Kimbolton road, and the lower Kawliatau road, from KangLtikci river bridge to Pataka bridge, declared subsidiary main nignways.
Mr. H. Tremain is in New Plymouth arranging for a visit of the Feilding Salvation Army band at Easter. The Feilding Acclimatisation society offers a substantial reward to any person giving information as to the destruction or taking of trout illegally. Feilding ’s annual ewo fair takes place to-day. The yarding is expected to number close on 30,UU0 breeding ewee.
PERSONALS. Sister Smith, the Feilding district nurse, is on her annual leave. Mrs Cyril Dernier roturned to Cheltenham on Wednesday after a debgutiul holiday spent in Nelson and Westport. Mrs Hill, of Auckland, is on a visit to her daughter Mrs A. E. Sandford of Denbigh Street, Feilding. Mr and Mrs E. E. Short left Feilding on Friday last for a visit to Sydney. Mrs F. Fish of leilding, is spending a holiday at Paekakariki. Miss Betty Woodward, of Hawke’s Buy, is the guest of Mr and Mrs Robert Burrell, Cheltenham. Mrs Oswald Meyrick, of Aokautere, is spending a holiday at Paraparaumu beach.
Miss K. Johnston, Cheltenham, returned on Thursday from a visit to Paraparaumu, where she was the guest of Mrs O. Meyrick.
