At its meeting on Wednesday, the Kiwitea, County council decided to apply to the Main Hignways board to have the Oningaiti-i-'emberton road from Otoira bridge to Kimbolton road, and the lower Kawliatau road, from KangLtikci river bridge to Pataka bridge, declared subsidiary main nignways.

Fish of leilding, is spending a holiday at Paekakariki. Miss Betty Woodward, of Hawke’s Buy, is the guest of Mr and Mrs Robert Burrell, Cheltenham. Mrs Oswald Meyrick, of Aokautere, is spending a holiday at Paraparaumu beach.

Miss K. Johnston, Cheltenham, returned on Thursday from a visit to Paraparaumu, where she was the guest of Mrs O. Meyrick.
