For the purpose of defending London at night time, the Royal Air Force has adopted the Bristol “Bulldog, 1 ’ reputed to be the world’s most formidable fighting plane, capable of attaining an altitude of 20,000 feet in 12 minutes and maintaining ft speed of 172 miles per hour at that height. Pilots in these machines woro electric-ally-heated clothing and oxygen masks.
