LABOUR FORCES LACK A GENERAL

LEADER’S ILL-HEALTH.

Telegraph—Copyright

CTnited Pross Association —By Electri# LONDON, Feb. 19.

The problem of Labour leadership is featured by the “Daily Express," which says: “It is dimming the bright sunlight of recent by-election successes that Mr Macdonald shows signs of serious over-work. His health is impaired, and it is doubtful whether he will bo able to continue. Mr J. H. Thomas is likely to be faced by a formidable opposition. Mr Henderson and Mr Clvnes have moro enemies than friends. Mr Snowden is respected but feared. Unless Mr Macdonald is restored to health, the party is likely to face the enemy with all the equipment of war, but without a general.’’
