A London cable reports the death of Sir John Brunner, director of Brunner Mond and Co., aged 64.
A Berlin message records the death of Dr. Bichard Broiling, author of 11 J’Accuse, ” in which he denounced Germany’s war guilt. Mr. and Mrs. Culford Bell, of Auckland, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Alee. Saunders, of Linton. Mr. Culford Bell, who is well-known throughout the Dominion as an elocutionist, is now director of the Auckland broadcasting station. Kev. Father Gilbert, S.M., hi.A., lias been appointed rector of St. Bebe’s College, Christchurch, vice Rev. Dr. Gcancy, who has been transferred to tlie Marist Seminary, Grcenmeadows. Other transfers arc Father O’Connell of St. Mary’s, Christchurch, to Nelson; Father Alex. MacDonald, of Hastings, to Christchurch; and Father Hoare, of Nelson, to Timaru.— P.A.
