INFANT’S SAD END IN MOTOR SMASH

MOTHER’S FATAL THROW TO SAFETY. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Jan. 16. The two-year-old child, Dawn Douglas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Douglas of To Kopuru, was killed on the Kaukapakapa read, eight milos from Helcnsville at mid-day. Tho family were travelling by car whilo on holiday when the accident happened. Mr. Douglas was driving and the wheels wero caught in a rut and became locked causing tho car to capsize. In an effort to savo her child Mrs. Douglas throw the infant out of the window but the car turned over on it causing injuries which were instantly fatal. Tho other occupants of the car were uninjured. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas have a drapery business in To Kopuru.
