STABBED WITH A KNIFE
Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Jan. 15. Suffering from injuries to the left side of the chest received through being stabbod with a knife while in the vicinity of tho wharf, N. Childs, aged 21 years, was admitted to hospital. The police are investigating the matter.
DOES NOT ENOW WHO DID IT. DUNEDIN, Last Night. N. Childs, a taxi driver, aged 21, was admitted to the public hospital at 10.15 on Monday evening suffering from a knifo wound in the body. It appears Childs had driven some members of a ship’s crew to the hospital to visit a friend patient in the insttuton, but admission was refused as it was after visiting hours. 'He drove the party away and later a friend asked him to drive to the Maimoa’s berth at Victoria wharf. After he had been on the Maimoa and Bloemfontein tho watchman on the latter vessel ordered him to leave. He was hurried down the gangway by the watchman and subsequently stated he had been stabbed, but was unable to say who was responsible. His condition is not regarded as serious.
