Duncan has been chosen as captain of the English professional golfers against the United States for the Ryder Cup at Leeds on April 27 with Allis, Burns, Boomer, Compston, Cotton, Mitchell, Robson, Charles, Whitcombe and Ernest Whitcombe. Notable absentees of previous Anglo-American contests are Ray, Jolly, Havers and Gadd. The match at Leeds will decide the rubber as each has won one apiece
