POPE’S CONDEMNATION, COUNTRY CLERGY FOSTER BELIEFS. United Press Association—By Electri* Telegraph—Copyright. ROME, Jan. 13. The Pope has recommended the Bishops to condemn superstitions, notably the prejudice against thirteen, Tuesdays and Fridays, which are popularly regarded as unlucky. Tho Pope would have tho Church restore those days to favour and absorb thirteenand their supposedly sinister influence# He states that mostly the country clergy foster these beliefs.
