The coroner to-day inquired into the death of Nola Rowley, who was killed at tho bottom of the precipice at Echo point, Katoombu, early on New Year's morning.

Cyril Thompson, deceased’s brother-in-law deposed that he drove the cur from Sydney to Katooniba on New Year’s eve, the party consisting o? deceased’s brother and sister, two young men and Nola. A dozen bottles of beer and whisky were in the cur. The party danced in the La Plaza saloon at Echo point till two a.m.

Ncla .retired with a man. She was later discovered in an intoxicated condition, arguing and crying alternately. A free fight occurred among the young men over Nola; who was seen to climb ever the guard rail at Echo point lookout and drop over the cliff nearly 200 feet. Thompson was of opinion she must havo obtained liquor from others while outside the saloon.

The Coroner returned a verdict that Nola had committed suicide through temporary mental derangement, caused by partaking of tod much liquor.
