Tom Oakley, of Masterton, New Zealand’s champion cyclist, has accepted the invitation of the Feilding Amateur Athletic Club to race at its meeting on February 7. The catering for the stud sheep sale at the Showgrounds to-day will be tuidertaken by the ladies of the District Nurse committee.

Mr. William ltcid, of Makino, is at present an inmate of the Palmerston North hospital, where he underwent a serious operation. A nasty accident befell Messrs. Jefferies and Donaldson while playing cricket at Kowhai park on Saturday afternoon. They were batting together when Donaldson hit a ball to leg and was called for a run. Both were apparently watching the ball and collided in mid-wicket. Donaldson was knocked out and Jefferies sustained a black eye. It was some minutU; before they c/uid resume play.
