Dr. E. C. Barnett and family have returned from their vacation at Rotorua and the doctor has resumed practice. Sergeant H. Joyce, of tho Wellington Folicc force, who succeeds Sergeant J Power at Palmerston North, arrived yesterday. The judges appointed for the next festival of the Manawatu Competitions society are as follow: —Vocal and instrumental, Mr. H. Barry Coney (Auckland); elocution, Mr. W. Farquhar Young (Christchurch); fancy dancing, Miss Constance MacDonald (Napier); highland and kindred dancing, Miss Daisy McLellan (Wellington).
