The United States Census Bureau has reported the influenza epidemic is now in its ninth week and has taken over 12,000 lives in the 05 principal cities. Weekly reports have shown a steady rise in deaths from influenza and pneumonia since November 3, the latest of which, for the week ending December 29, showed 2,957 deaths from both diseases. Additional deaths are expected before the epidemic passes.
