Weddings
McKENZIE—ROBERTS. On Wednesday, January 2nd, Miss Evangeline Phyllis Roberts, of Buckley Shannon, was morried to Mr. Murdo McKenzie, of lawa Flat. The ceremony took place in the Presbyterian Church aud was conducted by the Rev. M. Williamson. Aftorwards s reception was held at the I.X.L. tearooms in Ballance street, where some 25 friends sat down to a sumptuous breakfast. The happy couple left for the south amid showers of confetti and good wishes. COLE—HODGES. On Tuesday. January, Ist, Miss Florence May Hodges of Wellington, daughter of Mrs. Gladys Hodges, was married to Mr. Patrick James Cole, of Shannon. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. Farrell in the Vcnerablo Bede’s Church which was well filled with friends of the bride and bridegroom. The bride wns<given away by her mother, and the wedding march was played by Mrs. Clifford-Jones, as the couple left the church. After the .ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Cole left by car for Palmerston North to catch the express for Auckland.
