INTERESTING THE CHILDREN. LEARNING GEOGRAPHY FROM THE AIR, Times Cable. LONDON, Jan. 4. Sir Alan Cobliam, the famous airman, proposes to make during the summer a flying boat tour of Britain. Sir Alan will talk flying to every boy and girl on the coast, and will institute essay competitions on the subject: “The air routes of the world and their relationship to the development of peace and progress,” giving successful competitors free flights. Sir Alan Cobham states that the boys and girls will find that flying will enable them to visualise the scenery, rivers and towns along any route. Such impressions became permanent and gave one a complete conception of the geography of a country or continent.
