COLYTON
. COMING OF AGE PARTY. On Monday evening Mr and Mrs M. A. McLeod entertained a large number of guests at their home, Taonui road, Colyton, in order to celebrate the coming of age of their son, Mr. Murdock McLeod. A thoroughly enjoyable evening was spent in dancing and competitions, while a number of Scottish dances were performed to the stirring strains of me bagpipes. The winners of the competitions were, “Motor cars,”, Mr, J. Linklater 'l,, Mr E. Cousins 2; “Monte Carlo,”, fpx >.rot, Miss Smith and Mr. Bruce' McLeod. After supper the following toasts were musically honoured, “The King," “Mr Murdock McLeod,” ’“Mr and Mrs McLeod;.” “The- rest of the family,” '‘The ladies,” “The musicians,” “The guests.”
Mrs McLeod wore a handsome frock of soft black silk and-Miss M. McLeod wore apricot chiffon velvet and Miss C. McLeod Was attired in shell pink georgette and crepe de chone, while Mr. M. A. McLeod .and .Mr Murdock McLeod wore the dress tartan of the clan. ■
The singing of “Twenty-one today’-’ and ‘Auld Lang Syne,” brought an enjoyable evening to a-close.
