• The many book friends of Miss Boss, who is librarian at G. H. Bennett’s Ltd., Palmerston 'North, will regret to learn that she is at present in hospital. The Misses Vallancc, of Masterton, are visitors to Palmerston North. Mrs. B. M. McKnight, who has been visiting Mrs. J. Bailance, at Wanganui, has returned to Palmerston North. Mrs. Cowper, of Dannevirko, is the guest of Mrs. Hume, of Pirinoa, Wairarapa. Mrs. H. Aubry. has returned to Pal■merston North following a six months’ holiday in England, Miss Spencer, of . Hastings, is the guest of Mrs, Noel West, Palmerston North. ■ Mrs. J. Taylor is a delegate 'from Waverley, at present visiting Palmerston North for the Women’s Institute Club Conference. Mrs. Miliar, of Cambridge, is visiting her mother, Mrs. Eowlcr, Palmerston North. Mrs. Batchelar, of Waverley, is. the guest of Mrs. ’ Fowler, Church street. Palmerston North. Johnnie Leekie, of Dunedin, the professional featherweight boxing champion of New Zealand, was 'married quietly at St. Paul’s Church, Wellington, yesterday, to Miss Eileen McGuire, of Grcytown. The happy couple left for Blenheim, where Leekie is to box Vercoe, states a Press wire.
